Colour labelling kit
Shofy recommends clothes by 12-season colour analysis. We need a trained colour analyst to tell us where our rules are right and where they're wrong. Two jobs, paid, about 12 hours in all.
Job 1 · Drape 24 people in person
Drape about 24 adults in daylight with real fabric, and record each one's season. Please include at least 6 people with deep skin and 6 with very fair skin. A week later, drape 6 of them again without looking at your first answers, so we can see how consistent the method is.
- Blind: you never see our engine's answer. A helper records each person's own description of their colouring before you start.
- Private: people are codes (P01, P02…), never names. The sheet stays in your browser until you download it and send us the file.
- Time: about 15–20 minutes a person, about 8 hours plus the 6 repeats.
Job 2 · Review our 12 draft palettes
Each season has 20–30 colours: best near the face, neutrals, and colours to keep away from the face. Mark each one keep, change or drop, add what's missing, and answer three short questions about our rules. 332 colours in all, about 3–4 hours. Your answers save in this browser as you go.
How our engine decides, so you can judge it
- Value (light to deep) from the depth of skin, hair and eyes.
- Chroma (soft to bright) from the contrast between skin and hair or eyes, and whether hair and eyes read clear or muted.
- Family by the strongest trait: Deep or Light if value is strongest; else Bright or Soft; else Warm or Cool.
- Season by undertone, from gold or silver jewelry and vein colour; without one, people get the family's shared palette ("Deep, either side").
Photos are never used to judge undertone: phone white balance shifts warm or cool more than skin does.
